Ambitious martial arts organisation partners with Harlands

Go-Kan-Ryu Karate (GKR) is a traditional Japanese style of karate, founded by Robert Sullivan in 1984.  As one of the largest martial arts organisations in the UK, GKR Karate UK currently has an active membership base in excess of 5000 students training at over 400 different classes each week.

With such a large student base utilising a widespread multi location set-up, GKR Karate required a high quality payment system which addressed the unique needs of both the club and its students.

Harlands created a bespoke online joining portal designed specifically for the business to capture sales remotely and to reduce the paperwork and admin time when signing students up on site. All the administration and management involved with collecting student DD’s and managing arrears payments are done by the Harlands team and the organisation has the support of Harlands great customer service team who are able to deal with any enquiries ongoing.

Simon Kane, National Administration Manager, is extremely happy with the service and commented, “We conducted an exhaustive search to find the right provider to help execute our Direct Debit offering.

“The Harlands mix of quality customer service, flexibility and marketing leading technology made them the perfect choice for us.  Over the coming 12-24 months we have ambitious plans to continue to enhance our overall membership offering and we look forward to Harlands being an integral part of this.”

After almost a year with us GKR Karate UK now have the platform they need to fully utilise the benefits of Harlands services. Targeted marketing can now be done to drive more students across the country to take up the sport knowing that they have the process and administration back up to assist in their growth.

Stafford Pascoe, Digital Marketing Manager, said “We definitely made the right choice when selecting Harlands to manage the service for us”.
