Rush Active is evidence that integrating with the community pays dividends

Rush Active Gym forms part of a community hub and leisure centre for Woodrush Academy, Wythall in Worcestershire.   The development has added specialist facilities for the school to help it maintain its Outstanding status from Ofsted. The hub comprises a library, a youth and community centre, a café, dance studio and meeting space as well as adding additional teaching spaces.

Rush Active Gym is a private gym for the community that is unique to the area and has strong links with the families associated with the school. It hosts a 40-station gym, offers personal training, a popular and strong class programme in addition to wellbeing programmes and strong links to the Academy PE curriculum. It’s 665 members come from the immediate community.

“As a facility our key responsibility is to generate income for the school with an excellent offer and the experience to match. It can be a challenge to be able to run a commercial proposition in this environment,” says Rebecca Allen, Sport and Leisure Development Manager.

“Ensuring that our members can join quickly and easily is important as well as the service our members receive when administering their membership agreement is critical to the local relationship. We need to ensure this process is as frictionless as possible and that we can effectively track and manage the data.”

When selecting a membership management partner, Rush Active were looking for a quick, easy and cost-effective service that integrated with their operations and technology.

Rebecca continues, “Harlands gives us the ability to offer online joining to our members, better management of the process. We now have better management over our payments. We have a fantastic relationship with our account manager and Harlands has proven itself to provide the support we need for Direct Debit management.”
